Chair Parts Sanding
We’re looking for detail-oriented individuals to join our Chair Sanding team. Both full-time and part-time positions are available. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys hands-on work and takes pride in creating smooth, quality finishes. You’ll help prep chair parts for finishing by sanding and inspecting each piece to meet industry standards.
What We’re Looking For:
- Reliable, hardworking, and attentive to detail
- Comfortable with repetitive tasks and standing for long periods
- Prior woodwork or sanding experience is a plus, but not required
- Willing to learn and take feedback
Case Sanding
We’re looking for detail-oriented individuals to join our Case Parts Sanding team. Both full-time and part-time positions are available. Finishing Department
Join our Finishing Department, where the final details bring our handcrafted furniture to life. We’re looking for reliable, detail-oriented individuals to apply stains, sealers, and finishes to our product, ensuring each piece meets our high-quality standards.
What We’re Looking For:
- Apply stains and finishes accurately
- Inspect each piece for color consistency and finish quality
- Perform touch-ups and corrections when needed
- Work as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
Warehouse
We’re looking for hands-on, detail-focused individuals to join our Warehouse Team where the final stages of our handcrafted furniture come together. This role involves final assembly, light sanding, touch-ups, hardware installation, and product prep for shipment.
What We’re Looking For:
- Good eye for detail and quality
- Comfortable using hand tools and performing light assembly work
- Ability to lift and move furniture pieces (30–75 lbs.)
- Team player with a strong work ethic
Dimension Mill
Join our team in the Dimension Mill, where raw lumber is processed into high-quality parts for handcrafted furniture. We’re looking for reliable individuals to assist with sorting, stacking, and organizing cut lumber to keep production moving smoothly and efficiently.
What We’re Looking For:
- Sort cut wood parts by size, species, and quality
- Stack lumber neatly and safely in designated areas
- Assist machine operators by clearing tables and organizing carts
- Perform visual inspections for defects or damage
Darrin Hess
People & Culture Manager | 2 Years at MAVIN
As MAVIN’s People & Culture Manager, Darrin Hess plays an important role in bringing people together and helping create a workplace where everyone feels valued. Through his involvement in coordinating company events and Townhalls, along with his work in leadership training, Darrin brings organization, attention to detail, and a genuine interest in the people around him to everything he does.
His supervisor describes him as positive, upbeat, and approachable, someone who takes the time to listen and treats everyone with respect. These qualities reflect MAVIN’s core value of the Golden Rule and are especially meaningful in a role centered around people and company culture. Whether he’s organizing an event or simply having a conversation with a coworker, Darrin helps foster the kind of environment where people feel heard and appreciated.
When asked what he enjoys most about working at MAVIN, Darrin doesn’t hesitate: “Obviously—the people!” He believes the people at MAVIN are what make it such a special place to work. And while his role involves plenty of planning and coordination, some of his favorite memories come from the spontaneous, lighthearted conversations in the office, often involving Cam, that have led to some pretty good laughs along the way.
Beyond the Workplace
Outside of MAVIN, Darrin enjoys staying active through golf, pickleball, boating, and kayaking. He also loves watching his kids play sports and spending time babysitting his grandkids.
And here’s a fun fact you might not know about Darrin: he once drove all the way from Indiana to Alaska! It’s quite the road trip and certainly a memorable experience to share.
